Assistants support assistants in this biz! See something, say something... As in, if you see a boss a** assistant running an event/org/creative pursuit outside of their 9-5, you best be telling everyone you know.
Doing our part here at THA by sharing the two incredible assistant projects we loved this month.
OBSCURA: A short film
A short film by Paige Freeman (GEF Entertainment), Santha Rowles (The Gersh Agency), and Jamie Leuchs-Curtis (Partizan Entertainment).
By day, Paige Freeman, Santha Rowles, and Jamie Leuchs-Curtis are Hollywood assistants, and by night they're putting everything they’ve learned to use. They met through their alma mater, Emerson College, and have produced several films together since.
Their short film, "Obscura," explores themes of the trials and tribulations of being a woman in a male-dominated industry and what happens when repercussions aren't faced. Why should everyone have to suffer the consequences of one person's bad day?
Their collective producing experience, from short films in college to music videos on the weekends, makes them confident that we can bring this project to life, but they’re going to need our help to do it. They still need to raise some additional funds so that they can feed (and hopefully pay) their cast and crew and secure locations and equipment.

LOUD MOUTHS: An LA comedy show
presented by The Little Ladies: Alyssa Urgo (The Gersh Agency),
Little Ladies Presents is a monthly variety show that highlights comedy in all its forms from traditional standup and musical comedy to digital creation, character work and more.With rotating monthly themes, we hope to promote the advancement of up-and-coming talent across all areas of performance.The Little Ladies aim to foster a space where artists can explore their own relationship with creation, and the audience can fall in love with the future of comedy. They will also fall in love with the free parking!Line up subject to change.
